Manufacturing

The manufacturing of motorcar race tracks, by Racing Art Designs, is a story of love and passion. Passion for automobile races, for the finest race tracks throughout the world and all the cars and bikes which have driven on their tarmac.

Some of these tracks are known to all of us, since they welcome some of the world's best known races. But even the most modest race track has something in common with the greatest ones: they are places of exceptional emotions, where drivers, amateur and professional alike, share common values and intense moments driving or riding their machines.

And since the machine is an essential part of a motor race, it only seemed obvious for us to show you the process and machines required to make our track sculptures. Find out how our stainless steel track sculptures are made:

STEP 1 : THE TRACK DESIGN

The first step is to get a vector copy of the track design which needs to be made. We work in close collaboration with various partners who help us get our drawings.

STEP 2 : CONVERTING THE VECTOR TO CAD

The next step is to convert the vector file into a CAD version (computer aided design) in order to make it compatible with the laser cutting machine which will manufacturer the track sculpture.

STEP 3 : LASER CUTTING

The following step is the cutting of the track sculpture with a CNC machine (computer numerical control). These highly technological machines allow for amazingly precise and clean cutting.

STEP 4 : BRUSHED FINISH

The last step is the brushed finish of the stainless steel sculpture. The brushing technique helps get the various lines that are visible on the stainless steel.

Wall fixing

To fix your stainless steel sculpture to the wall, a two-faced tape kit is supplied. This long-lasting extra strong tape makes it easy to fix the sculpture to any surface. To fix it, apply small pieces of tape on the back of the sculpture, as is shown below:
